Put simply, the Earthworks DK7 Drum Microphone Set captures the full and natural sound of the entire kit. Because the microphones are so compact, this set is ideal for live work as well as recording work. What's particularly striking is that the entire bundle consists of small-diaphragm condensers. This brings some major advantages over the dynamic microphones that are often used to mike up drums. Every model included boasts an outstanding transient response, so no detail is lost, while the extremely flat frequency response leaves the kit-sound entirely uncoloured. There's also no danger of these microphones getting distorted, since they've been calibrated to handle astronomically high sound pressure levels. This comprehensive set includes two SR25 microphones that can serve as overheads; four DM20 microphones complete with clips so they can be mounted onto the snare and toms; and an SR20LS microphone which features a lower sensitivity, setting it up perfectly for the extreme SPL delivered by kick drums.
